Have you ever wondered what microscopic creepy crawlies are living in the brestles of your toothbrush? I’d rather not think about it, but you know they’re there.

To prevent those little buggers taking up residence on your toothbrush, simply place a drop of Tea Tree Essential Oil on the bristles each time you are done brushing.

To keep your mouth fresh and clean, mix your own tooth oil and use it in place of your toothpaste. Try mixing 10 drops of Tea Tree oil with 2 drops Peppermint in an ounce of Message oil. Apply 1-2 drops of this mixture to your wet toothbrush and brush as you normally would. My favorite is 5 drops of Birch oil, 2 drops Peppermint, and 1 oz Message oil. Be creative and find a combination you like.

Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil is excellent for fighting weakness and fatigue.  A few drops placed on a tissue and inhaled will help raise energy levels and stimulate your appetite.  You can also apply 3-4 drops of the oil on your feet several times a day to put a pep in your step and keep you lively.

Cinnamon Bark also supports you as you recover from a nervous breakdown or other stress related conditions.

Oregano (origanum vulgare) is a member of the Labiatae family (commonly referred to as the mint family). Its name is from the Greek word oreganos, which loosely translated means “joy of the mountains.”
Topically, it helps treat cellulite, eczema, psoriasis and chronic skin problems.  It destroys staph, annihiliates athlete’s foot, and can relieve toothaches.  Oregano naturally eliminates lice and wipes out intestinal worms.  (ewww gross!)

A few weeks ago a friend, Lee, called me with severe pain in both of her shoulders called tendinotis in the deltoid muscle and rotator cuff. Lee has had “impingement release” surgery. This is where the surgeon carves the bone away from the muscle. About 12 years ago she had surgery on both shoulders and the pain was back in spades. The Dr. told her she needed another surgery. She could not sleep at night except to sit up in the lazy boy type chair with ice packs on both shoulders. Every 2-3 hours when they became warm she would get up and replace them.

Have you ever wondered what you could really accomplish by just changing your thoughts? As a hypnotherapist, my good friend Trayce thinks about this quite often. He not only uses the power of the human mind/imagination in his clinical work, he also uses it to entertain and amuse people as well.

If you want to see firsthand the power of your imagination, come to Trayce’s next performance this weekend. You’ll have a blast! Not only will you laugh till it hurts, you may just leave the show inspired to reach your full potential by creating your desired accomplishments within your imagination first and then watch it unfold into “reality” before your eyes.

Christine Davies, essential oils user and mother of five, is coming to The Crystal Ray this Thursday to teach about how to safely and effectively use essential oils with children.  Did you know that many essential oils are too harsh to use with children?  It is important to understand which ones to use and how to dilute them for the best interest and wellbeing of your children.  Class starts at 6:30 pm and is $10 per person.  The Crystal Ray is located in Pleasant Grove, Ut at 661 W State Rd (801)785-8855.  See you there!

Jojoba

Posted In: Essential Oils by skatoa

Some essential oil blends contain Jojoba oil in them.  People may claim that if an oil blend contains Jojoba, it is diluted and therefore less-then a blend that may not have Jojoba in it.  However, the truth of the matter is, that Jojoba is a necessary component in some blends and actually assists in stabilizing the oils and increasing their shelf life.

Jojoba oil is actually in fact a wax that is the closest molecular structure to the sebum of the skin that exists.  It is healing, healthy, and actually much more costly than most of the essential oils in any blends you may be familiar with.

As I’ve stated in the past, lavender is well known for it’s ability to assist the skin in healing and is known as the universal oil. Here is yet another testimonial about how lovely lavender is.

My 16 year old niece had to have surgery on her nose due to a 8 year old break. She had a large amount of scar tissue that was removed. The next day she could see the purple effect around her eyes and on her cheeks. I had her put lavender on everywhere she could touch without getting it on the bandages. The color was faded to a very light color after only one application. That was last night. Today she just looks like she is tired, but the bruising is completely gone. She has not taken any pain medication since the lavender either and slept great!!!!
