I had a pretty gnarly time this past week dealing with a sinus infection.  I would not recommend developing one of those at all.  I did not like it.  As a matter of fact, it kind of caught me by surprise because I just don’t get sick.

However, after a little pondering and reviewing of my current life style, I concluded that getting only 4 or 5 hours of interrupted sleep each night  (my two youngest children still wake up at night, or at least yell out in their sleep and wake me up multiple times) does not make for a healthy and strong immune system.  Despite all the other extra healthy steps I take to ensure good health, I have had proof that lack of sleep can discount them all if it continues for a prolonged period of time.  And so, lesson learned.  I’m am finding ways to get in a nap in the afternoon when I can and get to bed earlier when it is possible.

Okay, so that wasn’t the point of this post.  The point is how wonderfully my Forever Green Essential Oils worked to boost my body and help it get rid of this nasty sinus congestion.  Once it was determined that I was dealing with super-duper sinus congestion and the development of an infection, I put the oils to work.

As soon as I started feeling poorly, I put a drop of Spice of Life on my tongue and did the Liver Cleanse twice that day, making sure to drink lots and lots of water throughout the day.  I also rubbed on some Defense oil as well.  That was Wednesday.

When things got worse on Thursday, I rested as much as I could, took more oils internally and  took a nice salt bath with Eucalyptus, Tea Tree and Lavender oils.  That was very relaxing and rejuvenated me for a while but as evening time approached, I felt like my head was going to explode, and so I got out the big guns.  I filled a capsule with 2 or 3 drops each of Lemon, Rosemary, Eucalyptus, Peppermint, and TeaTree Forever Green Essential Oils and swallowed it down.  (If I was really, really serious, I would have sprayed that mixture up my nose and spit it out, but that didn’t sound fun to me at all).  I also put Rosemary above my eyebrows and down my nose, Eucalyptus on my chest and down my neck behind my ears, Spice of Life on my feet, and a drop of Peppermint under my nose.  I know it sounds like a lot, but this sinus thing hit hard and I wanted to hit it back even harder.  With that, I retired to bed and slept like a baby.

The next morning I felt better but was far from being over it.  I started my day with the Liver Cleanse as usual, adding Spice of Life to it as well as the Lemon and Peppermint oils.  I made sure to rest as much as possible, and took capsules throughout the day, alternating the ones mixed with multiple oils and then ones with only Spice of Life.  By that night, I was feeling well enough to get spruced up and go to my good friend J’s house to do an Aromatherapy Party.  My voice was a little off, but other then that, I looked and felt great: a huge difference from the night before when I was wishing I could just lay down and die.

That night before bed, I did the same thing as I had the night before and woke up the next morning feeling even better.  That was Saturday.  Here it is Monday, and I am feeling just fine.  Still a little tired, but I’m breathing beautifully and haven’t had a headache all day!  Thanks to Mother Earth for providing everything that we need for our healing and health,  and thanks to Forever Green for producing such pure and powerful essential oils!

(I am pretty smart you know!)
