You know how you can tell when a stye is about to claim residence in your eye? The area gets irritated, tender, and painful before that pesky thing even appears. And you’re dreading going to bed because you know that when you wake up the next morning it will be there; big, red and lumpy and anything but attractive. You don’t want to look diseased for a week and yet, you know there is nothing you can do to prevent it…..or is there?

Guess what? You can prevent a stye, and even curb pink eye simply and effectively with Lavender Essential Oil. When you feel it coming on, as soon as the discomfort starts, get your lavender and put it around your eye. Be careful not to get it too close. It will kill if you get the oil in your eye. Just put a drop on your finger and rub it around the bone of your eye socket. For an added boost, put a drop of Lavender on each foot as well. If you have it, a drop of Spice of Life on each foot would be a good boost too.

Don’t have Lavender? Try doing the same thing with Tea Tree Oil. I’ve personally only used Lavender for this, but I’ve heard Tea Tree can do the trick as well.

If you want to rub some oil directly on your eyelid, add one or two drops of Lavender or Tea Tree to one tablespoon of mixing oil such as olive oil, grape seed oil, etc and use that in and around your eye.

Lavender and Tea Tree are both a part of the Essential Oils First Aid Pack that is still available for only $99.95. There’s a total of 7 oils in this kit that have multiple uses and come in quite handy on a very regular basis. Check out the First Aid Pack here.

Happy Stye Preventing!

Here’s a tidbit that may help anyone who suffers from frequent heartburn: To prevent it, drink a glass of water with either a drop of Peppermint or Lemon essential oil in it before you eat.  If you are already in discomfort, place a drop of either Lemon or Peppermint on  your tongue immediately.  If your heartburn is severe and a daily concern, try doing the Liver Cleanse for awhile and see how your condition improves.

*Forever Green Essential Oils are truly pure and safe to consume.  I do not recommend ever consuming essential oils other then those with the E.O.B.B.D. certification of purity such as the essential oils produced by Forever Green.*

I love Geranium Essential Oil.  It has such a sweet, beautiful smell.  It really helps to balance you emotionally.  When you are feeling stressed, depressed, over emotional, or overwhelmed, grab your Geranium Oil and start sniffing it.

Aside from the emotional benefits, Geranium is wonderful for healing wounds.  When someone gets a cut, put Geranium directly on/in it.  It will go to work instantly cleansing the wound and closing it up.  (Remember, only do this with Forever Green E.O.B.B.D. certified essential oils.  Other oil brands may be diluted with chemicals or other oils and will not have the same effects and may be harmful if used in this way.)

I have personally seen Geranium work miracles on my children and myself.

This past August, I was innocently laying in bed early one morning trying to sleep in just a little bit longer when my sweet two-year-old flung her head down right on my face.  My lip split open and immediately started bleeding.  Though I was seeing stars and in more pain then I’d like to admit, I jumped out of bed and ran straight to the Geranium Oil.  I dropped a few drops right on the cut.  It stung a little.  It tasted well, not as pleasant as it smells; but it worked.   The bleeding stopped and the cut started closing up - and the sweet aroma helped to keep me calm.  I iced it a bit to ensure there’d be no swelling, and went back to bed.

Later that day my sister and a friend came by for a visit.  When I told them what had happened, they where both surprised because you couldn’t tell anything had happened unless you knew and where intentionally examining my lips.

A similar situation happened to my little nephew a few weeks ago.  He fell and split his lip.  My sister, remembering my story, put Geranium on his cut as well.  She was pleased to report that within a few hours his lip was just fine.  He was even able to nurse without showing any signs of discomfort.

I’ve got more stories similar to these, including one when I thought I’d be bringing my son to the emergency room for stitches but used the Geranium Oil first instead.  So, add a bottle of Geranium to your first aid or 72 hour kit.  It will come in handy and may save you from an expensive hospital bill as well.  I’m serious.  Try it the next time you’re dealing with a cut.  You’ll be amazed just like I was!

This afternoon, my hubby asked if I’d rub his neck a little.  It had to have been bothering him quite a bit for him let me know it was hurting.  Being the Essential Oils buff that I am, I grabbed my purse and used the oils I had in it.

First I put a drop of Cairo Care on each foot.  Then a few drops on his neck.  After a few minutes, I used Fyscial Thera P on his neck and shoulders.  As I rubbed his neck and head and shoulders, the oils went to work.  I used two other oils that I had handy as I worked his feet, back and hands.

Between the oils and the massaging, he was able to relax enough to fall asleep for a little catnap.  The beauty of it all is that I spent maybe 20 minutes doing this and the effects lasted all day.  I could have just rubbed his neck a little like he asked, but I knew that using the oils as well would be much more effective.

So remember, if you’ve got ‘em, use ‘em.  If you don’t got ‘em… get ‘em and then use ‘em!

Relax with T.L.C

Posted In: Essential Oils by skatoa

T.L.C. is a beautiful blend of essential oils that is amazingly soothing and smells absoultely wonderful! It is excellent for relaxing, calming, comforting, soothing, and releasing pent-up anger. Just as Quiescent blend is for calming the mind, T.L.C. is for calming the body.

A beautifully relaxing way to use T.L.C. is in the bath. Add a few drops to some sea salt then add it to your bath and soak for a good 20 minutes. This not only soothes and nourishes your body, it also detoxifies you as well.

I like to use T.L.C. on my children when they are restless at night. And just today I wore it as perfume. It is awesome for massages as well.

What is so beautiful about T.L.C. and every other Forever Young Essential Oil, is that they can be used in so many ways for so many different things! I love getting creative and just having fun with my oils.

Next time you need some lotion, try adding a few drops of your favorite essential oil to some shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil or other carrier oil. Use that instead of chemical laden lotion to soften your skin and nourish your body simultaneously - Your body will love it!
