You know how you can tell when a stye is about to claim residence in your eye? The area gets irritated, tender, and painful before that pesky thing even appears. And you’re dreading going to bed because you know that when you wake up the next morning it will be there; big, red and lumpy and anything but attractive. You don’t want to look diseased for a week and yet, you know there is nothing you can do to prevent it…..or is there?
Guess what? You can prevent a stye, and even curb pink eye simply and effectively with Lavender Essential Oil. When you feel it coming on, as soon as the discomfort starts, get your lavender and put it around your eye. Be careful not to get it too close. It will kill if you get the oil in your eye. Just put a drop on your finger and rub it around the bone of your eye socket. For an added boost, put a drop of Lavender on each foot as well. If you have it, a drop of Spice of Life on each foot would be a good boost too.
Don’t have Lavender? Try doing the same thing with Tea Tree Oil. I’ve personally only used Lavender for this, but I’ve heard Tea Tree can do the trick as well.
If you want to rub some oil directly on your eyelid, add one or two drops of Lavender or Tea Tree to one tablespoon of mixing oil such as olive oil, grape seed oil, etc and use that in and around your eye.
Lavender and Tea Tree are both a part of the Essential Oils First Aid Pack that is still available for only $99.95. There’s a total of 7 oils in this kit that have multiple uses and come in quite handy on a very regular basis. Check out the First Aid Pack here.
